Cisco Systems VPN 3000 Client -- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP
Introduction
The Cisco Systems
VPN Client is a networking software package that allows users not
on the MCCCD Network to access restricted electronic resources by
granting an MCCCD-based IP address over an existing network connection.
What
You Will Need
-
An active
Internet connection.
The VPN
client works over a previously established internet connection.
For users of electronic resources, this will generally be a
DSL, cable, or dialup connection through a non-MCCCD ISP.

An active
MCCCD Active Directory account, used for authentication.
Obtaining
and installing the Cisco Systems VPN Client
-
Click
on the "Run" button again to run the installation
application.

Click
on the "Run" button again to run the installation
application.

Click
on the "Next" button.

Click
on the "Yes" button.

Click
on the "Next" button.

-
Click
on the "Next" button to install to the default location.

You will
see the following status windows during the installation process.

Click
on the "Finish" button to reboot and complete the
installation.
Configuring
the Cisco VPN Client
Once the VPN
client is installed, you need to create a VPN connection:
At this point, the VPN client should be tunnelling properly. You
can check to see the VPN client's current status by double-clicking
on VPN client icon on the System Tray.
